Sony has released a new developer diary for upcoming PS4 action game Infamous: Second Son, and it gets all down and dirty with the nitty gritty of emotions and mocap acting.
Much of the video talks about how the PlayStation 4's improved specs can help create deeper emotion and a better portrayal of actors in a video game, and how Infamous: Second Son uses that to emphasise lead protagonist Delsin Rowe.
Tech director Spencer Alexander, for example, says, "With this jump in hardware, you really have the expectation to see what is next-gen. I think a lot of that isn't just about better graphics, better lighting, smoother rendering, but the facial capture and the performances that are coming through, just this fuller cinematic experience."
Watch it below. It's quite interesting, and there's even a glimpse of acting from Troy Baker (of BioShock Infinite and The Last of Us fame). Radical.
