Amazon Has Fun With PS4, Xbox One Prices

You what, mate?
Consumers are hoping that next-generation consoles will be pretty reasonable on the wallet. What with the fact we're all still clawing our way out of a recession, and all. Online retailers, on the other hand, are probably hoping that they can rinse you for as much as possible. It would explain why these placeholder prices for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on Amazon are so extortionately high.

Amazon lists both Sony and Microsoft's upcoming consoles at a tear-jerking price of £599.99. That's pretty hilarious. Even better is that, without any RRP on software for retailers to go by, Call of Duty: Ghosts on Xbox One is 'selling' for £89.99.

Naturally, as these are placeholder pages - existing purely to catch pre-orders - the prices will change as Microsoft and Sony formally announce such details. Likely at E3. Amazon notes this on all their pre-order pages too, to be fair to them. But really, this system of retailers just 'making up a price to cover their backs' is a little backwards. It's 2013, we have the Internet... and yet retailers must list a best-guess price to support a simple pre-order? Come on, guys.
