Specs specs specs. Sony didn't waffle too much about all that stuff with the PlayStation 4 last night - except to highlight the developer (and thus, the gamer) benefits to the world. But, following last night's Meeting event, the company issued a press release that goes more in depth into the console's innards. The release, obtained by
Joystiq, states that the PS4 will contain an 8-core 64-bit x86 'Jaguar' CPU developed by AMD and a Radeon GPU with 1.84 TFLOPS of capacity. The Blu-ray drive in the console reads BDs at 6x and DVDs at 8x.
This is all in addition to 8GB of unified GDDR5 RAM, 802.11n WiFi, USB 3.0, Bluetooth 2.1 and HDMI output. A hard drive is also included, but we don't know what size it is yet.
