A Happy 2013 to you and also to Eidos life president Ian Livingstone who the Queen has made into a Commander of the British Empire in the New Years Honors list. That's a CBE from HRH for the man who brought us Games Workshop, White Dwarf and Lara Croft.
Yes, Mr Livingstone's real life achievements aside from the royalish bling also includes producing the massively influential Fighting Fantasy books, now 30 years old and up to date with this year's Blood of the Zombies.
The CBE also joins the OBE (Order of the British Empire) that he was awarded in 2006.
He also set up Eidos (now with Square) and as such introduced Lara Croft to a generation of gamers and shortly to their children's generation. He also lobbies government on video gaming matters, producing the Next Gen Skills Review with Alex Hope.
All in all a fine figure of a CBE!
