PS3 Firmware 3.40 Beats Leap Year Bug
Sony's latest PlayStation 3 firmware didn't just add some funky new features, along with PlayStation Plus. It also nuked a bug in the system's clock that rendered 'Fat' consoles useless earlier this year.

If you can remember that far back, older PS3 models around the world were struck with dead consoles on the 1st March as the system believed 2010 to be a leap year. When it turned out it wasn't, the hardware couldn't cope and had the equivalent of a brain freeze. Chaos ensued. Luckily, things went back to normal the next day for most people.

Now you can update your console's firmware and know that the same incident won't happen four years down the line. Thank God for that, eh?

Cheers, Gamerzines.
