Activision Kotick: Our Spider-Man Games 'Sucked'
Activision CEO Robert - Bobby - Kotick has been a proper quote machine of late, not only was $7 million for Blizzard 'insane' but now Spider-Man games have sucked.

He told Game Informer, "Our Spider-Man games have sucked for the last five years. They are bad games. They were poorly rated because they were bad games."

"We went away from what is Spider-Man. It's about web-slinging. If you don't do web-slinging, what is the fantasy of Spider-Man?"

Given what EA's European marketing lead said about rubbish Need for Speed games recently, it appears that executives of game publishers must have been attending a 'Disarming Honesty about Our Games' seminar, possibly hosted by Gerald Ratner.

So this, presumably, means the next one will be good? I love Spidey, but I must admit that I've not been very inspired to push through any of the Spider-Man games of the last few years. I liked Ultimate Spider-Man, but that (at a push) falls outside Kotick's "last five years". Hopefully Batman: Arkham Asylum's shaken Acti-Blizz up a bit...
