Microsoft has commented on speculation that Project Natal - the full-body controller - is racist!
"The goal of Project Natal is to break down the barriers for everyone to play, and it will obviously work with people of all shapes and ethnicities at launch", says Microsoft to
Eurogamer, which used used former
Newsweek man, N'Gai Croal's apparent problem using
Burnout Paradise and Project Natal as an example of possible gaming apartheid.
Croal's problem with the controller was first highlighted over at Bitmob, which usefully drew attention to his
'crazy dreadlocks' as a possible issue.
Some 'science' regarding near-infrared spectroscopy has also been called in over at
Neogaf to justify the subject, "Natal struggles to see Black people?".
This one has 'controversy' written all over it...
