The video game industry (and its attendant media - such as ourself) attempts to move at breakneck speed to keep up... with itself. So, occasionally its' a good idea to reflect a little for context.
Back 2006 in Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto spoke to
Business Week about why the Wii/Revolution would shake up the industry. Since then it's been said again and again that the Wii is a mere fad. It isn't.
Here's Shiggy's piece of prediction, if you're Sony right now, it might be worth a re-read:
"The consensus was (in Nintendo) that power isn't everything for a console. Too many powerful consoles can't coexist. It's like having only ferocious dinosaurs. They might fight and hasten their own extinction."
