Summary

The Disney platform game has been around for quite some years now. In its earlier days, when the games playing population was considerably younger, the series was massive, and MegaDrive's Castle of Illusion was a huge hit. Even today, the Disney platformers are still being produced in the Capcom-developed Magical Quest series. That series is now in its third instalment for GameBoy Advance in a brand new adventure, this time starring Mickey, and our personal favourite, Donald Duck.

The evil Baron Pete is up to his dastardly tricks again, and not only has he taken control of Storybook Land, he's also plotting to take over the Outside World. What's more, he's taken Donald Duck’s three nephews - Huey, Dewey and Louie - with him. Of course, it's up to Mickey and Donald to save the day before it's too late.

Yeah, it's a cliché, but it's typical Disney and the kids seem to love it. The adventure itself remains faithful to earlier offerings, presenting itself as a scrolling platform game. Players are able to assume control of both Mickey and Donald as they navigate a variety of imaginative cartoon environments, jumping across gaping chasms and defeating the occasional bad guy. Much loved characters such as Pluto, Daisy and Minnie make welcome appearances and there's also a variety of mini games, new costumes and special abilities to try out such as the Knight and Magician.

Magical Quest is a simple game with an obvious target audience. Definitely one for the kids, this one, but great fun nonetheless.
