Summary
As the atypical old bloke in the pub will tell you, after knocking back a fair few shots of Lambs Navy Rum, those of us classified as the 'younger generation' should all be proud to be British. Proud to be British because our parents and grandparents put the Great in Great Britain and made the country what it is today. Yes, I'm talking about those brave heroes of World War 2 (cue brass section!) who risked their lives for our freedom. One such brave hero went by the name of Wing Commander Guy Gibson.
On the night of the 16th of May 1943, Wing Commander Gibson led a squadron of 19 specially adapted Avro Lancaster Bombers on a daring attack on the dams of the river Ruhr. Gibson and his squadron were known as the Dam Busters.
Back in the 21st Century, you can now relive their finest hour and many more courtesy of Just Flight's latest expansion pack and your trusty copy of Microsoft's Combat Flight Simulator 2.
Featuring authentic historical scenery, WWII airbases and all the aircraft, such as the Lancaster, Grand Slam Lancaster, Mosquito and Wellington, The Dam Busters places the player in the pilot's seat throughout 20 famous missions. As well as the squadron's most famous victory, players can also take part in their other great sorties, such as the sinking of the Tirpitz, raids on V1 and V2 rocket sites, Bergen U-boat pens and, of course, the raid on Hitler's 'Eagles Nest'.
This is a must for fans of Combat Flight Simulator, and with sales in excess of 21 million, that's certainly a fair few of you.
