Summary

In an all new MechWarrior tournament, MechWarrior Mercenaries does away with morals and honourable combat. This time it's all about money, nothing else, and it's every man for himself.

Armed with only a 100-ton Mech and a fledgling mercenary company, you must prove yourself a formidable opponent in combat to earn valuable sponsorships and lucrative licensing deals. As you work your way up the halls of BattleTech fame, you'll be approached by an increasing number of notorious groups offering a larger sum of C-Bills than the last.

There are some 40 missions standing between you and ultimate MechWarrior stardom and you'll have to battle your way through the Inner Sphere to reach it. But with good mouse and keyboard controls, players must rely on their own skills to emerge victorious. Any mistakes or tragic errors are your responsibility, no one else's.

Set many moons into the future in the year 3063, MechWarriors' environments are completely believable. Mechs look like Mechs, buildings look like buildings and explosions are the most spectacular you could hope to see short of an Armageddon.

Multi-player mode is an integral part of MechWarrior Mercenaries. There are 19 new maps including a Jungle environment, and new multi-player modes such as Mech Affiliation Zone games and a C-Bill game in which players are restricted by their own wealth.

As a part of the MechWarrior series, Mercenaries is one of the best releases, but it also makes a statement on its own, which will no doubt guarantee its success.
