Two years in the making, the create-your-own-music-using-these-samples music editing software has returned for a Club Edition update for PC. It's bangin'!
Using a simple yet effective cut and paste interface, Jester's 2002 Club Edition allows users to piece together dance tracks using over 500 samples from the Slinky Pro-cut archives. The package features 12 exclusive pro mixes from resident DJ's such as Lisa Lashes and includes remixes of classic Slinky tracks, including Andy Passion's 'Future Is', Collective Minds' 'Waves Apart', Series A's 'Spiritrider' and Coast 2 Coast's 'Be With You' and 'Home.' That's just a few, and the rest are just as good. You do need to be a bit of Club-head to enjoy the style of music in the new Club Edition, obviously, but we know there's millions of you out there. It's worth a few hours of anyone's time.
Beating at the heart of the package is a heavily reworked version of Jester Interactive's Music 2000 engine. Selecting beats and loops from those on offer or using imported ones, tracks are compiled within 99 channels, which are then automatically streamed into the final product. Pop up menus can then be used to alter the speed and tempo of tracks or add a wide range of audio effects, with users then saving their work out at .WAV files.
Tracks can also be enhanced with fully customisable 'videos', wherein the user can create breathtaking images to complement each track, with a secondary menu screen allowing users to select from preset effects or create their own. The package also features extensive videographies of the Slinky DJ's featured.
Beyond Music 2002: Club Edition, you only have expensive studio software, which is admittedly better, but it's just too complicated. But as consumer software it's great, and shouldn't be overlooked.
