Music is that rarest of things, creative utility title for the staunchly games-orientated Playstation console. Although the Playstation has the power to be a 'multimedia player' like the 3D0 used to be, Sony has avoided the temptation to go down this route. Music flies in the face of this policy by bringing a fully fledged Music editing package to the Playstation. And a jolly good one too.
By simply selecting a sample from the selection included on the disc, and plonking it down in the grid, you can be writing dance tunes in minutes. And because all of the samples have been designed to go together, there's no problems with sample rates, tempo or looping.
Music even lets you create simple videos to go with your compositions!
For a console program, it's extremely impressive. Obviously, you can only use the included samples, and saving songs has to be done on your Playstation memory card. Users wanting a more serious music tool should consider eJay series for the PC, but armchair Adamski's will find this entertaining enough!
