Summary

Motor Mayhem is pleasantly different from the majority of other car games out there. If a games got cars in it, it’s natural to assume that it’s a racing game. Motor Mayhem is closer to a fighting game than anything else. Strange, but if it works, do it. Round one, fight. Motor Mayhem is one-on-one gladiator style combat with cars, if this sounds good, read on.

The aim of the game is to be the last contestant standing, which is harder that it sounds. Players have an assortment of cars and over-the-top power ups to destroy each other with. The environments are completely destructible as well so you can expect plenty of violent explosions and chaos. Weapons on offer include, cruise missiles, heavy artillery, mines, and more.

The graphical power of the PlayStation 2 console delivers some truly jaw-dropping visuals in Motor Mayhem. The emotion engine adds substance to the gameplay with real-time deformable geometry technology. If you like crashes just wait until what Motor Mayhem can deliver. There’s something appealing about hitting your opponent just right and watching the destruction their car takes.

Even though the single-player game manages to be both challenging and entertaining, it can’t match the fun of a two or four player deathmatch. It’s that unpredictable element to human behaviour that multi-player games different each time you play. It’s time to invest in the PS2 multi-tap to enjoy the best this game has to offer.
