It would hardly be a new console launch without Ubisoft throwing its hat into the ring with a platform exclusive, and the debut of the Xbox One is no different. Fighter Within builds off what Ubisoft started with Fighters Uncaged to bring a motion controlled beat-'em-up to the arena.
The game uses Kinect 2.0 to immerse players in the fight. With Kinect's full body tracking there's no need to sit back and use a controller to do all the work. Now your body's the controller and your success or failure depends on your physical prowess.
Kinect will track users' motions to recreate their moves on screen, enabling gamers to get deeper into the fight than ever. As well as all the kicks, punches, counters, throws and combos you'd expect, there are also special moves activated by following the prompts on screen.
Happily, Kinect 2.0 will track two players at once, meaning that two players in one living room can get in on the action at once. You can now work out your beefs with friends physically without ever having to lay a finger on them!
And who knows - with all that physical activity you might even get a little trimmer and a little more muscular!
Fighter Within is the first next-gen beat-'em-up, and it's looking to establish itself as the leader of the pack.
