Summary

It's been a long time coming, but the first multi-platform game from Ratchet & Clank and Resistance developer Insomniac is available.

You play as Overstrike 9, a high-tech spec-ops unit charged with dealing with some of the weirder threats to world security. Led by veteran commando Dalton Brooks, the team are sent in to secure a secret research facility and find themselves battling against Raven, a nasty organisation that wants to use a strange substance called fuse for its dark purposes.

The game's a third-person cover-based shooter. Each character has a unique weapon that uses fuse. Dalton, for example, has a shield that can be used to protect team-mates from harm and pulp enemies with a short-range energy burst.

There's a real emphasis on co-op play, and you can combine abilities for all kinds of interesting results. Even if you don't have any friends on hand to help out, the AI will step in to cover your back. In fact, if you're playing solo you'll even be able to swap between characters at the push of a button.

Have you got what it takes to protect the world?
