Insomniac CEO Ted Price confused a whole load of people when he took to Reddit last week. In a Q&A with site visitors, he referred to Nintendo's Wii U as 'current-gen' and said there were no plans to develop for it. He's since clarified that stance, adding that Insomniac isn't ruling out future Wii U projects."We have to be selective because it’s easy to start to stretch yourself too thin. So we’re careful about where we go," Price said in an interview with
Digitally Downloaded. "One of the questions I got a lot of early on was ‘why aren’t you developing for the Wii U?’ and the answer was simply bandwidth.
"We had to focus on delivering a great game on multiple platforms, but there’s a point where we had to make hard choices, and for us we needed to limit the number of platforms for
FUSE…but we’re not ruling out anything in the future. We are a content creator and we want to reach as large of an audience as we can."
Insomniac is currently hard at work with bringing
FUSE to PS3 and Xbox 360 at the moment. We should probably give the studio some space to finish that first.
