Summary

Motion controlled horseracing where the player is the jockey is the offering in Tecmo Koei’s simultaneously realistic and quirky Champion Jockey.

Using the Wii Controller to emulate the jockey’s control of the reigns - and in some situations the whip - enables the player to make their way through the pack out of the starting gate to final victory in a series of authentic racing experiences.

But the controller is not simply used to control the player’s various steeds' speeds', as the horse’s individual gaits and rhythms must also be understood, controlled and mastered to achieve the win.

Both flat and jump races are included in the game in a range of courses in both Europe and Japan using a variety of modes. These include
'Scenario Challenge' in which the gamer rides a horse that they themselves have reared; 'Quest Challenge' in which the gamer selects a horse and competes and 'Practice Challenge' in which the player must match given criteria and win. Rearing horses is achieved in the Story Mode and once trained up the nags can then be used in the Scenario Challenges.

The gamer can also play in online modes that feature Live Jockey Rankings in Scenario and Free Battles.
