Summary

They say Rugby is the gentleman's sport. You probably wouldn't be able to tell with all the broken noses, grazed elbows and dog-piling that goes on in the field. But New Zealand developer Sidhe sees the real beauty in the game, and it shows in the latest edition of its Rugby League series.

For the third iteration, the developer has taken advantage of the motion control elements of Nintendo's Wii platform, offering different play moves and styles using your body. Believe in the scrum, for you are the scrum.

Other improvements to Rugby League 3 comes in the form of advanced team-level gameplay. Defensive lines, implementing play strategies and building team confidence is all made much more immersive with additional tweaks to opponent and team AI. Of course, you can always play with real friends too.

Over 80 licensed teams are packed in here, all from various Rugby competitions such as the Super League, UK Championship, NRL, Toyota Cup, State of Origin and other international tournaments. As you would expect then, there's a large number of worldwide stadia to compete in too. 38 to be exact, spanning the UK, Australia, New Zealand and France.

If the regular tournaments aren't your style, and you think that they're so last year, you can create and customise your own competitions, teams and players. There's even a mode where you build your very own dream team and tackle your way to the top in a multi-year Franchise Mode. Here you can manage players, organise club records and be your own boss.
