Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes - Wii

Don't you just love beat'em up games that feature crazy, madcap action and outrageous methods of combat? Japanese developers have long been making video games reproducing historical fights and conflict in ancient Asian countries, and Capcom has done the same with its latest instalment of Sengoku Basara – Samurai Heroes.

Set in a rather turbulent period in Japanese history, this third-person hack and slasher gives players the chance to tackle huge groups of enemy forces at once, while having the power to knock them all down with but a mere couple of button presses.

And the characters you get to play as don't mess around – the weapons you'll have at your disposal include a ball on a chain, magic rods, a massive blade, and even guns! Which we're sure isn't very 16th Century Japan, but then neither is a huge Gundam-esque combat mech either. It's okay though, because you get to pull off all kinds of moves with flair and finesse, thanks to the development experience of producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi (who has also worked on Devil May Cry).

Unlock new characters, take control of supporting generals that have entire armies under their command and rewrite history to rule all of Japan. more
