Summary

The limbless wonder is back, and he's facing his greatest challenge yet: hordes of demonic rabbits. Yup, that's what we said. Rabbits. They've been lurking beneath the surface of the world for a long time now. Waiting. Plotting. Doing sinister, rabbity things.

Now, however, they've emerged, and it looks bleak for Rayman.

When the action kicks, off Rayman is a prisoner of the rabbits, facing trial after trial in the gladiatorial arena. Fortunately for us, the rabbits don't realise just how awesome he is and that they're facing a one-man rebellion. The set-up is lifted from the film Gladiator: as a captive jumping through hoops for the evil bunnies, you must win them over and gain popularity in order to challenge and overthrow the evil emperor.

To progress, you'll have to play a series of minigames as the nefarious bunnies heap challenge after challenge on you for their sick amusement. These range from 'wiggle-the-analogue-sticks-as-fast-as-you-can' style races to making the bunnies dance to making them as fat as possible. Or if you need something a bit more action-orientated, you can engage in some crazy plunger-shooting gun-slinging. Let's face it; fighting rabbits with plungers ain't something you get to do every day. Of course, all this is done with the flair and panache you've come to expect from the Rayman.

The graphics are of the style you've come to demand from Michael Ancel: slick, quirky, strange and surreal as ever. There's the opportunity to add your own touch to the look of the game as well. You can customise Rayman's prison cell as you progress, going punk, pop, rock or hip hop so at least the hero can suffer in style.

A game that offers up the chance to fight bunnies is what everyone's collection is missing.
