Home on the Range - GBA

As Disney grows ever bolder with its much-loved animated films, the company appears to have taken a particular liking to the comedic elements of its projects. Its latest venture, Home on the Range, is a prime example of this. Better still, when video game tie-ins are produced, they usually reflect the personality and character of the cinematic original, and again, the same is true of Disney Interactive's GBA offering of Home on the Range.

Taking place where the film left off, players of the scrolling platformer will assume control of the hilarious farmyard group as they set out once again to put villains Alameda Slim, Rico and the three Willies back into prison.

As the light-hearted adventure progresses, players will revisit an array of familiar big-screen locales as they become accustomed to the game's rather simple play mechanic. It's very much a case making your way past the obstacles the game presents you with in its levels as well as dabbling in a few other activities. There are added cut-scenes to drive the game forward, and the overall presentation and style of the handheld game one that's faithful to the film and very welcome.

It's a run-of-the-mill platform adventure as far as the GBA is concerned, but it's mighty fun nonetheless. more
