Summary

Now famous for its outings with Shrek, TDK has become much more prolific in the industry over the past year or two, and the Shrek series is set to continue with the release of Reekin’ Havoc for Game Boy Advance.

One of his many handheld offerings, the arrogant but lovable Ogre and Princess Fiona are again placed under pressure when the ghost of Lord Farquaad casts an evil spell upon his fairy friends. You know what has to be done - get moving!

As a game, Reekin’ Havoc is essentially a combination of several playing styles. It’s an adventure game, but there are also elements of exploring, platforming and even combat. Players will assume control of both Fiona and Shrek throughout the adventure in what proves to be an old school, multi-tiered gaming experience. Your journey will have you wandering corridors, climbing ladders, looking for keys and solving the game’s myriad puzzles. You’ll make use of Shrek’s brute strength in some sections, while as Fiona you’ll use your ninja-like abilities to progress through the game. It’s classic gameplay in the palm of your hand.

Reekin’ Havoc isn’t visually outstanding, but it looks okay and doesn’t detract from the fact that it’s a great handheld game. Kids will love it.
