In 2002, Xbox owners had the exclusive pleasure of partaking in one of Artoon’s finest platforming adventures that not only incorporated some of the genre’s finest elements, but introduced players to the possibilities involved with virtual time manipulation as well. Two years on, a fully fledged sequel has arrived, bringing with it the best of the debut release along with several intruiging, if non-conventional playing styles.

Assuming control of the feline super-hero or a newly introduced pig character in this latet offering, players are able to pause, fast-forward or reweind events, as usual, in order to negotiate a number time-related puzzles. Innovative at face value, this aspect of the game is virtually identical to its predecessor. However, an entirely new play mechanic is brought into play, afforded by our aforementioned super-pig. Able to manipulate space as he sees fit, this new playable character can make use of warp holes, space bubbles and the likes to asccomplish the tasks that players are charged with.

Played on the most powerful console currently available, Blinx 2 is naturally good-looking, making the best use of the Xbox’s superior capabilities. These are best showcased in the time-manipulation play mechanic, but overall there’s little to compain of, technically speaking.

And that’s just the single-player game. However, with the help of a friend players can enoy the twsited tale in a co-operative capacity that involves a number of two-player challenges and team-based puzzles. Add to that four-way split-screen battles and you’ve got oyurself a well-rounded, diverse and polished action game.
