Summary

The next chapter in the Cultures series continues with the release of 8th Wonder of the World. As before, the game blends elements of real-time strategy with those of building simulation, set within a colourful world amidst the Viking era.

The events of 8th Wonder take place some years after the end of the game's predecessor, Northland, at a time when the renowned heroes around the Viking Bjarni are doing what they do best following a recent bout of adventuring, and simply enjoying their daily lives. But one day the powers of darkness and evil slowly begin to spread across the world, and suspicion, harm, hate and war start to return. Following a meeting between the chiefs of each country, it soon becomes apparent that there's only one way to fight the evil, and that is to rebuild each of the eight wonders of the world.

And so the greatest heroes of the past are summoned and, under your command, once again set out to save the world from the impending doom. As such, their destiny, and also the destiny of all humanity, lies in your hands, as you attempt to solve the mystery of the aforementioned eight wonders and banish darkness from the Earth.

In the game, every character has a role and requires your care and attention as you take on an array of eventful missions and adventures. A single-player campaign offers up the main story mode, but there are also a number of separate single missions to undertake, as well as multiplayer support for up to six players via a LAN or the Internet. And if that's not enough for you, 8th Wonder also comes bundled with a level editor, so there's plenty of life in the game once you've exhausted the main adventure.
