Summary

When EA launched the original Sims game back in 2000, the series quickly established itself as one of the most popular god games in video game history. Expansion packs such as House Party, On Holiday and Livin’ It Up reinforced that fact, but the series is now set to take a step away from reality as The Sims Makin’ Magic gets its release for PC.

As the title implies, god gamers can now throw caution to the wind and wield the power of magic in order to manage their newly created beings and even have a little fun of their own. By unlocking spells in the family book, wannabe gods can mix ingredients to concoct a variety of original spells. Spells can be used to maintain the house and cook meals, helping your Sims no end. But magic can be used for more mischievous means too. Players are also free to meddle with relationships, bring objects to life and even turn unlikeable neighbours into frogs. Just be careful your spell doesn’t backfire.

In addition to your new-found magic abilities, you’ll also be able to take advantage of a fresh selection of environments, objects and characters. Magic Arenas and trick tables help players get the most out of their experiments, whilst all-new characters enable players to trade with Gypsy vendors and Faerie queens. Also, a selection of more that 150 new items gives players the creative freedom to tailor their game world with new decorator sets and wall, floor and roof designs.

Makin’ Magic is a great addition to the Sims universe and we’re sure it won’t be the last.
