The all-encompassing EA Sports series increases by one with the release of this year's instalment of NBA Live. As always, we're sure you're not going to be shocked to discover that it's bigger and better than last year's game and it comes bundled with a wealth of new moves, controls and gameplay features.

One of the most notable new elements is the introduction of Quick Plays, which allow you to run authentic offensive and defensive sets with just a single button. All the NBA teams are included in the game and all come complete with their own unique Quick Plays so, subsequently, you're able to implement such manoeuvres as the vintage Jazz pick and roll and the triangle, as used by the Lakers.

As seems to be the case with most EA Sports titles this year, the Dynasty mode in NBA Live has been significantly revamped and now gives you more control over the management aspects throughout. As such, you now have the option to import your top college players and run your franchise the way you want.

As well as having plenty of new features, the game also places emphasis on old school basketballing, giving you the opportunity to play with classic teams and arenas throughout NBA's history. Just some of the notable teams include the Bulls of the '90s, the Celtics and Lakers of the '80s, and arenas include the old Boston Garden.

With the addition of new animations, new AI logic, re-done character models, and authentic announcements by NBA voice star Marv Albert, NBA Live 2004 is a truly comprehensive basketball experience. There aren't a great deal of basketball sims on the market, so if this is your bag then you may well want to check it out.
