Summary
The clumsy, downright stupid, yet technologically gifted inspector makes a comeback in this latest release for the PlayStation 2. As usual, the evil Dr Claw is up to his old tricks again and is hatching a plan to overrun the world with super powerful, invincible robots. As the ruthless doc begins to deploy his robots throughout the world's largest cities it soon becomes apparent that only one man could possibly thwart his dastardly plans. To make matters worse, Dr Claw kidnaps the usual heroes of Gadget's cases, Penny and Brain, so the bungling inspector is left with quite a task as he sets off to track them down and save the world.
The game itself takes the form of a 3D action/platformer that places players into the unusually-large shoes of the haphazard inspector and casts them into the world of the classic cartoon series. The adventure takes players across the globe, visiting five different landscapes: France, USA, England, Mexico and Hawaii. Each of the destinations plays host to an assortment of specific enemies (all nicely dressed in customary local clothing) as well as a terrifying boss that, as is normally the case, has a key weakness that must be exploited in order to destroy it.
"So tell me about the gadgets", you demand. Well, you won't be surprised to discover that the inspector's impressive inventory of gadgets plays a key role in the game. There are seven in all, including gadget-helicopter, gadget-legs and gadget-umbrella - each one can be used to your advantage at specific moments throughout the game.
So, the operation is set. All Dr Claw has to do is make a move. But he must beware! Gadget is not far behind and he will certainly discover the plan that is unfolding around him, whether by complete accident or not. Will he have the intuition to track down his niece, her dog and the evil Dr. Claw?
