Summary

Christmas is almost upon us. We all know what to expect - it's the same every year. The annual Bond film has finished, there's another three hours until Only Fools and Horses, and the pub's still shut. What are you going to do? To make matters worse, your gran wanders in (on a slight angle, due to the bottle of sherry she's polished off on the sly) clutching a weathered, 20-year old green box with the words Scrabble emblazoned on the front. This year needn't be the same, however, as the good guys at Ubi Soft bring us Scrabble 2003 Edition for the PC, putting a virtual spin on the traditional board game and generally making it a bit more fun.

Scrabble 2003 Edition is the most updated and accurate Scrabble game available to date. The latest word lists available have been implemented and the computer AI now poses an even greater challenge to the most experienced of Scrabble players. Ubi Soft are also creating a range of interactive websites dedicated to new and existing Scrabble players who will welcome the new addition of full multiplayer modes, which allow up to four players to compete online or via a LAN.

If you're a Scrabble fan then this game is a must, even if it's just for the fact that there are no tiles that can be lost down the back of the sofa/eaten by the dog/choked upon by toddlers. More importantly though, the ability to take on a champion wordsmith from the other side of the world is a definite evolution for the ancient game.
