Summary

Ever wanted to manage a glamorous five-star casino in Las Vegas? Yeah, us too, although it'll probably never happen. But thanks to Vivendi's Casino Empire for PC, you can at least pretend to be a Nevada millionaire.

Given a basic casino and a sizeable sum of moolah, you will discover the trials of managing your own money making machine as you try to maximise profits and entice further customers into your gold studded realm.

You can design new casinos and you'll be responsible for the positioning of slot machines, cash machines, and other key money-spinners. All you have to do is keep the punters happy. Easier said than done.

Your hardest challenge will be to stay on top of things. But competitions, bribes and pay-offs will help to keep the competition at bay. Any bonus profits are yours for the taking, but any substantial losses may see you bankrupt with no place else to go but to the Game Over screen.

From a graphical standpoint, Casino Empire's 2D environments look fantastic. The level of detail is respectable, and the accompanying lush furniture and brightly-lit money machines make each casino much more appealing.

Casino Empire is similar in some ways to Maxis' Sims series, but it focuses entirely on management and profit, not people, and in that respect it excels. Plus, it's not a fat cat exclusive.
