Summary

Clone Campaigns is an expansion pack release for Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, the real-time strategy game from 2001. The original involved Age of Empires-style real-time confrontations between six civilisations from the saga, such as Galactic Empire, Rebel Alliance, Wookies, etc. with single player campaigns, skirmishes, historical missions and multi-player LAN/Internet battles available as game modes.

The Clone Campaigns Mission Pack features two new civilisations and 14 dynamic new battle scenarios. Derived from the film Episode II: Attack of the Clones, the new additions allow owners of the original to create all new battles and campaigns involving both civilisations from the classic Star Wars universe and the new characters from the recent film. 14 new single player combat scenarios also feature in the expansion pack, as well as new environments, vehicles and over 200 new units.

Like its predecessor, Clone Campaigns is built upon enhanced engine technology from Ensemble Studios’ Age of Kings. Improvements in gameplay have been made, based on the feedback from the first title’s player community, as well as enhancements on the technical side, such as upgraded shields, power cores and new effects.

Galactic Battlegrounds Clone Campaigns is a game for RTS fans, Star Wars fans and, since it requires the original Galactic Battlegrounds game, owners of its predecessor. Although it doesn’t break any new barriers in the genre, it does allow players the opportunity to take part in the infinitely popular Star Wars universe, within a well-respected and much-loved gaming genre.
