Summary

The great conflicts of the Star Wars universe come alive in the epic real-time strategy game Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds from LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC. As vast as the galaxy itself, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds comprises six civilisations spanning the entire Star Wars saga and features explosive campaigns covering land, sea and air.

The real-time confrontations involve six key civilisations: Galactic Empire, Rebel Alliance, Wookies, Gungans, Royal Naboo and Trade Federation. Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds features numerous game play modes, including single player campaigns, skirmishes, historical missions and multi-player battle arenas over Internet and LAN.

Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds offers players the opportunity for immense, large-scale combat covering a wide-range of environments. Campaign settings range from interstellar asteroids and aerial encounters to submerged cities and epic ground battles, with over 300 different units and structures. Players will be able to test their tactical battle skills as they deploy masses of units, up to 200 per side including bounty hunters, Jedi Knights, stormtroopers, X-wings, AT-AT's, snowspeeders, AT-ST's, Wookie Kas tanks and droids.

In the strategic simulations, players start with minimal resources and are challenged to develop strategies to build and manage reserves. A balance between economic, construction, troop management, technology, military and scientific resources must be achieved in order to advance. For example, a player can integrate upgradable technology such as Wookie ingenuity, advanced biotechnology and Jedi skills and reach new technology levels, with new wonders and new forces.

Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds also features a scenario editor, which has never before been offered in a LucasArts Star Wars game. The scenario editor will enable players to generate and share their own custom single and multi-player missions. Players can choose from virtually any Star Wars element, including favourite vehicles, units, characters, locations and time periods, to create new campaigns and a Star Wars legacy of their own that they can play online with friends… or rivals.
