Summary

Originally released in 1994, Myst has undergone several sequels and a variety of collector's edition packages, but past the first Myst release, the now legendary explore-em-up has never gone beyond the realms of the PC format.

Now that Myst has been reworked for Xbox, it features some all-new graphical techniques that visually bring the game up to today's standards. The game's music samples have been remastered and feature brand new sound effects, and movie quality has been enhanced. They may all be technical improvements, but the point is, with a game like Myst, atmosphere is of utmost importance, and these improvements do a much better job of immersing the player in Myst's fascinating gameworld.

Developed by Presto Studios, Myst 3: Exile features five entirely new ages for players to explore and hours of new mysteries to uncover. Myst 3: Exile uses new navigation technology to bring the world alive without losing any of the artistic beauty or interactivity of the previous Myst games. Fans will find more of what they love about Myst and Riven and a few surprises. By drawing on the history of the series and new technology, Myst 3: Exile is a true evolution of the series, not just a continuation.

Myst 3: Exile introduces a new villain, a bitter man whose home world was ruined by Sirrus and Achenar, and who returns to take revenge against Atrus and his family at their most vulnerable time. The player is trapped in a mysterious age, and must explore the environment and navigate its puzzles to gradually uncover the mystery of this new adversary.

Games of this style rarely make it to console, but we hope the introduction of Myst 3: Exile to console users will encourage the development of further such titles.
