Summary

As legend has it, many thousands of years ago, in the magical land of Rivellon, the Council of Seven sacrificed themselves in the fight against a group of disloyal magicians, who had converted to the dark side. To remember the Council of Seven, the 'Divine Order' was established, so as to pass on the knowledge of the wise men to the next generations.

2000 years later, amidst much civil unrest, war, hatred and greed, the dark side is becoming strong again, and is preparing a new attack on Rivellon. And guess who the person chosen to fight the evil and save the land is - that's right, it's you. Honest. No, really.

The prophecies of the wise men had mentioned that there would be a divine saviour of the Seven Races and that this person shall be found and blessed in a secret ceremony before they are given the chance to fall into the hands of the enemy.

Set in a fantasy universe, this RPG takes the player on a quest in a land torn apart by corruption and dark magic. Throughout the game, players are given the opportunity to develop their character as one of six different types as they explore the densely populated, versatile and eventful game world. A wide range of skills, spells, weapons and equipment are available in the battles with over 100 monsters and creatures, as are more than 150 non-player characters, each featuring different patterns of intelligent behaviour.

A comprehensive and immersive adventure to say the least, Divine Divinity offers a compelling storyline, deep, involving gameplay and a non-too-complex user interface. As the dark, gloomy winter nights draw closer, this game should provide ample distraction.
