Summary

The 3DO Army Men games have become a common sight on the shelves of games stores with an ever increasing number of titles released. While most of the plastic soldiers’ adventures are based on Earth, the Toys in Space installation of the series sends the Green Army into a whole other world. Unfortunately, the blue alien toys have assigned the Tanned Army as allies, and they’re about to invade Earth. After hearing of the devastating news, Sarge (you) of the Green Army sets out to save all plastic.

Beginning the campaign option, you will be introduced to the game’s plotline and direction. Soon after, you will begin battling against a horde of brown and blue plastic enemies that will stop at nothing to destroy you. To assist you in your mission are a great number of plastic weapons that range from basic pistols to massive rocket launchers. Those of you looking for a simple, quick game of plastic mutilation can begin the game’s battle mode. Here, you can choose from a whole series of weird environments that range from picnic blankets and bathtubs, to flower gardens and sandpits. You must, however, be aware of the environment’s hazards that include flame-spraying aerosols and hair dryers. Remember, you are plastic, and you will melt.

Despite a number of difficulty settings, beginning the game as a solo soldier in a battlefield full with the opposition makes Toys in Space challenging from the off. Persistent practice is what is needed if you are to become a superhero.
