Summary

Small boys on the hearth rug, sending troops onto and over the settee...plastic soldiers melting on the fire...enduring image isn't it? Re-live your childhood and reduce the chances of burning down the house with Army Men 3D. No small parts or sharp edges guaranteed.

After a hugely successful outing on PC, the PSX finally gets to play host to the little green men. Sarge is in charge and he's literally every inch the hero. Even crawling along on his stomach he looks invincible. Obviously a battle-hardened veteran of countless missions, his lantern jaw alone could be marked down as an offensive weapon.

A choice of battle strategies is available at the start of the game. You can choose the all-out action gung-ho method, or the more careful considered approach. Stealthily stalking the enemy, The Tan (The Green against The Tan, oh the memories!) and surprising them from behind can be just as satisfying as going in with all guns blazing.

There are over twenty missions to undertake, a two-player co-operative combat option, weapons galore and the Tan's AI, which of course gets increasingly demanding on your men's resources. Army Men 3D represents a tough challenge whichever method of combat you choose. The toys you used to play with when you were a kid have come to life.
