Summary

Welcome to the eerie snowfields of Icewind Dale. Surprisingly, ice doesn’t really have any relation to this epic role playing game; location excepted, of course. So, what’s the game all about? Read on.

There are few RPG’s that let you create your own character with such accuracy and unique preferences. You can specify the attributes of appearance, gender, warrior type and personality. Once you have created your ideal person, or, yourself, you will be able to read a short biography on your recent genetically modified experiments. After beginning your adventure within Icewind Dale, you must battle your way through hoards of evil monstrosities and explore as if you were Sherlock Holmes.

Icewind Dale’s visual capabilities are very familiar among PC role playing titles. Scenery takes place on pre-rendered scrolling backgrounds, in which you must control the 2-dimensional animation of your character. Fortunately, the lack of 3D allows for some beautiful animation and magic effects, making Icewind Dale a good-looking RPG.

Put together hundreds of locations, spells, weapons, characters, magic, monsters and legends, and you have yourself a nice little role-playing game called Icewind Dale.
