World Exclusive: How Nintendo escaped the case that might see Sony pay Microsoft for every PlayStation product sold

Hold the phone you said "if your live service is copied from Microsoft as well, you really do have something to feel good about." Lesten to this, microsoft copied sony's online plans, if you remeber when the ps2 was being made they said people were gonna be able to download content like movies, music and games, so when microsoft made xbox they blatantly ripped off sony's ideas. That's all microsoft does, there just mad cause they can't monopolise the game industry like they did in the computer industry.

I have yet to see the PS2 online service have downloadable movies, music and games. Admittedly Live doesn't either but it's online service is, as far as I am aware, far more complex than sony. Someone correct me on this (why the hell would i want Sony online when I have Live anyway?) but I'm pretty sure the PS2 doesn't even have a friends list you can add players to.

I didn't tell you to jump form xbox live. Anyway ps2 gave up on the online service for this generation. Next generation I would bet anything you and many others will be using sony's online service. The service will not copy microsoft's they will do their own thing. I don't need a gamer tag where a company is tracking my every move. Thats what thats all about. Microsoft tracks everyone on xbox live just like they do on windows, trust me I know computers and this is true. So let them track your ass not mine. Anyway you guys who love xbox live are the minority, want to know why cause if xbox live was so spectacular than why is xbox not ahead of ps2? The fact is not everyone wants to pay for something thats supposed to be free. We have bills to pay and can use that money for something better. Sony will kick xbox live's ass next year. Till then enjoy xbox live while it last's.

Sony is just going to keep fighting it in court... if Nintendo isn't being sued then Sony can settle with Nintendo. Then all they need to do is prove prior work and get off the Patent infringement thrown out. Then Microsoft paid up money for nothing. Unless the rumble feature in PS2 Xbox is radically different then the N64 & GC one. But i can't imagine how... it a motor that shakes based on voltage no?

Thats true but microsoft paid immersion so they could have 10% of the company now they are trying to make money off the ps2, which I feel shows how low microsoft is, they can't beat ps2 in sales so might as well profit from them, lame. Xbox owners are proud of a company that's a piece of crap.

There are some things I dont get about this:

1) Sony have used dual shock in the playstation controller for years, why have immersion suddenly decided to sue sony now?

2) in the spong report it says both microsofts and sonys controllers work in identical ways surely this proves microsoft "borrowed" some ideas from the dual shock controller (so maybe sony could sue microsoft...?)

Immersion is just trying to make money off a product they claim they made, of course a judge would rule in favor of immersion cause what does some old fart judge know about game controllers. Immersion could have said anything and the judge would have agreed, their just mad cause sony made the product first and since immersion is such a poor bullshit company they need money.

Just because it works similarly doesn't mean they copied it. You don't need access to a Dual Shock to work out how to make a rumble controller; it's the same way certain women's products work... Plus, in all honesty, they were all beaten by a certain Megadrive and SNES peripheral that delivered "force feedback".

Oh, and further: God i'm sick of the Sony fanboys. This is about the court case. Take your goddamn anti-ms stuff elsewhere. PLEASE. We've ALL heard it before. We don't CARE anymore.

For your edification, these lawsuits weren't born yeterday...they've been around for years and years, we're just now getting to the good bits at the end, your claims that Immersion "sprung" this on Sony just now or that after they settled with MS, which was almost 2 years ago they had the balls to go after "the big boys" are laughable. And the specific rumble technology, employed by both Sony and MicroSoft involves two motors with different, off balance weights spinning in unison. Not sure how specific the patents are or if Nintendo's rumble does the rhumba the same way... And the notion that MicroSoft "stole" Sony's idea for online service is equally amusing, like the idea of downloadable content was new then...Ol' Bill Gates has been around the scene a while, HE MIGHT have been around when the topic was first broached, to steal it from them, but he certainly didn't need Sony to copy from. I'm sure Bill wanted something that works, and was actually going to be implemented, not a "toy feature" that Sony can tout and then fail to support, just like the link cable on original PS. PS Online is about as successful as XSN, which is funny, becasue its Free and theres so many more PS2s out there...hmmm...

And another thing, lets all have a frigging pity party for alla your poor downtrodden Sony fans, becasue it will hurt you soo frigging bad that Sony will have to pay MicroSoft and Immersion... XboxNext, 360, 2, whatever, it'll grab more market share than the Xbox did this generation, and depending on Sony coud cement themselves as the premier home entertainment unit, which is all Bill wanted anyway...

Well I don't know about everyone else but I can't make out what this guys saying. He can't spell for one and he runs on about something I can't make out.
