More Weird Viral Xbox Stuff From MS
Microsoft emailed us today with a rather bizarre message about a new viral website it's launching called Origen. Found at this address Origen is, well, a mystery for now.

The email we received read:

London, 26 September 2005.

The forthcoming launch of the next-generation-defining console, the Xbox 360, is the most hotly anticipated launch this year.

Origen. Xbox promises a gamers paradise. What is paradise for gamers? We think we know. What do you think?

The internet is already buzzing with rumours. Is Origen the announcement of Halo 3? Is it an Xbox 360 shop on Times Square, is it the announcement on an Unreal Engine 3-powered Fable sequel…….?

Origen is? The debut of next generation gaming. A real place dedicated to gaming pleasures. A place to play Xbox 360 before anyone else. A place to play all the Xbox 360 launch titles. A place to take on other gamers.

How do you get to Origen? Over 600,000 gamers have already tried to find out. They find a page at www.origenxbox360.com, but paradise is not there yet. The gates of Origen open soon. The European race for entry into Origen starts on 27 September 2005.

We’d tell you more, but Gareth, our vice president in charge of deciphering Microsoft viral websites, is on holiday and everyone else is busy. And everyone we know at Microsoft is too busy planning X05 to return our calls this afternoon. If you know anything, do let us know in the forum below.

I see .... a pre-launch opportunity for (a select number of) people to play the X360... and thats about it.
However if it gives you the chance for kicking J Allard in the nuts i'm all game for it.

Goodness Spong, you've fallen behind. Origen is kind of old news. I don't know if you noticed but in the tree is the silhouette (sp?) of the MSN Messenger icon, perhaps hinting that linking your gamertag will have a little more meaning this time. That sounds quite cool and all, but like first poster says, it'd be more exciting if we were all allowed to kick J Allard's junk for being such a dusch bag.

Well...it went zero and nowt happened...but it's probably going by American time so our zero means nothing. It's lame running the timer off your computers internal clock, it means nothing on a global scale.

Crapola. This doesn't concern me as an American, but it is some kind of competition to come see the 360 in the US. I was hoping it would be open to US residents, but theres no US flag. The rabbits are quite interesting though, and kind of funny. Good marketing ploy by Microsoft though.
