Giz as far as the eye can see…
Gizmondo has revealed a new widescreen version of its seemingly immortal handheld, about which we know nothing. The unit was just revealed, though the firm’s official site makes no mention of the device we could find.

A nice man called James from Gizmondo called us up after we were mean about the console, which in fairness is a lot better than many had expected, and asked if we’d like to have a long meeting with the team behind the device. We said yes but then found a shiny thing and forgot, so hopefully James will read this and get back in touch.

The new Gizmondo is set to launch in 2006 and will feature increased processing power and memory. The handheld will also be hooked up with WiFi, Bluetooth 2, and tri-band GSM technology.

Hmm, which mobile shall I buy, I don't want to buy Gizmondo. Somebody please launch an alternative to this!

No pop out keyboard like the sidekick has, that would have been good.

They haven't put in Universal Wide Band wireless either.

Reminds me of a strange crossbreed of a Game Gear, a PSP and a Lynx. Oh, and a brick, it looks massive.

It looks a bit too similar to the PSP for my liking.

If the PSP wasn't at all gorgeous looking, then yeah!

I think the wide screen Gizmondo looks awful. The original one looked good, but this just looks stretched.... like so many cars that look fine in 2-door, but hideous in 4-door.
