If you’re still unsure about the PlayStation 2, there is one game that will easily make up your mind.

Polyphony is almost finished with their sequel to the Gran Turismo series and if there is one game that will sell a million PS2s, this is it. Gran Turismo was the first successful console driving game to be geared towards the simulation side of things. Normally simulations can be a bit dull, but racing million pound super cars is definitely appealing.

Gran Turismo 3 looks stunning and plays amazingly. GT3 is going to be the first console game to offer real force feedback steering wheel support. This means that the steering wheel has built in motors to offer resistance to your driving. You will be able to actually feel how much grip your car has on the road. Finding the racing line of least resistance will be essential to finding those quickest lap times and you will be able to tell when you have found it by how easy the wheel turns.

Sony is already taking pre-orders for Gran Turismo 3 on their on-line store. Sony is offering two different packages for you to choose from. Gran Turismo 3 is selling for £40 on its own and £100 with the Steering Wheel. This has to be essential purchase for the PlayStation 2, great graphics, gameplay and six-player link-up. All good things come to those who wait. We’ll bring you the European launch date as soon as Sony releases it.
