Hi-Res Zelda 2005 Video for the Sleepy
SPOnG figured that some of you may have been on holiday, perhaps in a coma fighting for your lives, or had developed temporary blindness following a domestic Xbox explosion, resulting in you missing the phenomenal Zelda 2005 video as shown by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata during his GDC keynote.

Well fear not, as here it is, the complete video in high resolution and downloadable on the Big N’s bandwidth.

Now you too can ponder the reason Link runs off with a kitten and mull over the game’s startling resemblance to the Lord of the Rings movies, thus re-empowering you socially and mentally.

The as yet untitled Zelda 2005 will be made available for public play at this year’s E3 and should be available for GameCube in time for Christmas across the globe.

We’ll bring you updates as we get them.

This Zelda title looks more daring to play with such good detail on foes, background eviroments.... etc.

It does have a LOTR (lord of the rings) feel to it, which in my opinion is welcome, bit i really hate is the spiders!!!!
Any game with large spiders puts me off. ( i have
a phobia)

Im s**t scared of them even in games. You probably guessed which ones:

RESI series,
Devil May Cry,
cant recall others, too shook up.

Overall, Im a big fan of Zelda, never hated any, this 1's definatly a classic when its out!!!!

P.S. Any tips on how i can overcome my phobia?

Well, I've got a costa-rician zebra bird-eating spider.

The graphics on this new game look average. Not that great, not revolutionary. The fields don't look smooth, the characters still have slightly angled polygons. Textures still have an air of repetition, especially on the dungeon floors.

It looks like a graphically advance OoT. A slightly improved version. I don't think it looks like anything special.

Well, I know you hated the N64, and I also know you think TWW was better than OOT... so fair enough :)

I loved OOT, and I agree this looks like "Super OOT", which is fine by me.

Please............spare me!

I think Ninty do know that there's a fair deal of touching up to do still, and will push the cube to its limit, E3 will show the game in all its glory i think, thy're just wetting up our appetite.

Oh yeah. Like Half-Life 2 didn't.

Seriously, for a console of this generation, the graphics alone are outstanding. That's probably surpassing Fable...

The water still worries me though; too clear. Hopefully it's just a pre-render before they add murkiness. The kittens thing just adds to the early screens with the hunting dogs. Something odd is going on, and it involves animals.

The problem they all seem to have with water is lack of realistic fogging. Like you say, the water tends to be complete clear (and have an awful wobble effect even when the camera and is underwater) or it has a flat semi-opaque look. Once developers have the fogging sorted, it will look *lush*

I think Zelda looks great considering it's not finished yet. Good people do remember the GC is not a PC that gets upgrades every so often. For a system that's been out for four or so yaers now it's nice to see good games on it still such as this. Graphics are one of the ingredients of a game not what the game is all about.

Nintendo have a winner on their hands here and I just hope that the release OoT or MM on DS next to this one, that would be even nicer?

Yes I see some LotR influence but that's a good thing and I'm sure Peter Jackson and co will be pleased by that.

I just hope that they go for extreme realism then. At the moment it looks pseudo-realistsic. I can't put my finger on quite why I don't think that's a good thing, I just don't.

I suppose you're right that they could iron out the graphic flaws before release. I hope so.

Finally, I hope it's not too much like OoT. The world's moved on by then and even MM had much more humour and charm in my mind than OoT.

The current FilmFour advert talks about moments in films that are in some way "magical" or special. For me there were moments like this in games such as Prime and the Wind Waker. I didn't find a moment like this in OoT.
