New screenshots of next seminal Cube adventure.
Under normal circumstances, you couldn?t justify an entire news article based on only a trio of screenshots. These aren?t normal circumstances, though. We?re talking Zelda?new, Gamecube Zelda.
The cynics are already murmuring in a disgruntled fashion about the state of the horse?s fur, and how it looks a bit waxy. The fanboys, on the other hand, are on their knees weeping with joy. SPOnG?s somewhere in between, quietly impressed and maintaining a dignified air of professional calm.
As soon as any more details on what could be the Gamecube's final must-have title come to light, we?ll be onto it. Until then, gaze longingly at the pictures over here.

Sorry. Cynical.
Shows Ninty are growing up when it comes to handling press releases. Not a coincidence that we have negative reports on dead pixels on the ds methinks. Nintendo are starting to learn how to play the games press a little better.
Damn cool shots though. Can't wait to lose my life to another Zelda game.

Usual quality I'd expect from Nintendo, I'm beggining to wonder if Nintendo should hold off Zelda for a GC2 release instead.

Good point. It's release will be so close to Revolution's, it might better serve as a killer launch title (along with Mario128 I hope) to give them the boost they need in the Next Gen.

Pah. Why couldn't that have kept with the Wind Waker 2 theme? I don't want a dodgy realistic Zelda that will try as hard as possible to be like the poor OoT.
If Nintendo keep this title for the Revolution and release it along with Mario Revolution then they will lose the war. Appealing to their ever decreasing fan base won't help them next generation.
They need both these games and more mature, new and innovative titles.
I can see the launch line-up:
The Legend of Zelda: The Random Collectable Item, Super Mario Revolution, Mario Party 7, Super Mario Kart: Super Star Circuit, Kirby and his Amazing Cute Pink Thing, Super Smash Bros Karate.
Sorry about this rant. I know most people won't agree with it ;). I thought the Wind Waker was the best Zelda since A Link to the Past, and I'm annoyed amout the reversal and the fact that Nintendo still don't produce any variety in their game themes.

I have to say i have never been more glad to see a change back in style. Sorry, but more Majora's Mask-esque Zelda, less Wind Waker. Wind Waker was utterly woeful, IMHO, and i'm glad i didn't waste my time getting all the way to the end (it had a little... glitch on the last boss that meant i couldn't go any further. Every time. And i have noooo idea why) but instead got the Zelda collection disk off the Stars catalogue and played OoT and MM instead...

Dude, I totally agree with you. I love Nintendo's current IPs, but they really need to develop more new IPs and they don't see to be doing that more. Advance Wars is one game in the Nintendo catalogue that shows it can be done (even though it's Camelot's doing) well. Not since 1080 and Star Fox have we had a new games design.
Yes, we've had today Mario Baseball news, which is a surprise to everyone, and if they do a football one I am so there. Nintendo do need new IPs badly, but more than just Mario, this is no longer enough when you have to sell you product outside of japan.
When I look at the likes of Capcom, Sega, etc putting out some new IPs I feel sad when I look at Nintendo only to see Mario this and that, Zelda, Metroid and nothing totally new. This has to be sorted out for the Revolution, or Sony will take the lead just on games variety. More new IPs for adults, as well as the all round stuff like Mario etc.

The move to adult Link is a super smart move. I love how link looks,manly yet feminine. The screen shots really don't look that great. Link looks awesome but the textures on the horse and the enemies are terrible. There blurry and have some seams. Nintendo is known for there extreme polished work. So they may fix the bad texture work. If they don't thats going to suck, cause the game has huge premise.

Yeah. They need new, adult IPs. If they stick to the current tactics I just don't think they stand a chance with the Revolution.
Look at the success of Advance Wars on GBA and Pikmin on Gamecube. These prove that new IPs will sell games.
The worst problem is that the best games get lost in the similar crap that is produced. Mario and Luigi is one of the best GBA titles, yet it sold poorly because of a lack of publicity and because it was one in a vast tide of uninventive "Mario [Something]" games from Nintendo. In fact, the only other Mario game on GBA that I actually thought "hey, that sounds good" is Super Mario Ball. It appears other new, good GBA titles will sell poorly due to lack of attention from Nintendo.
But anyway, glad you agree :D.
