Marketing madness continues - The Bard's Tale leaks itself
Clearly impressed by the media exposure gained by Half-Life 2, Halo 2 and GTA: San Andreas and their respective leakages, InExile Entertainment has conjured up a cunning scheme to promote its upcoming adventure: The Bard’s Tale. It is, after all, the ‘in thing’ to have one’s product stolen and then made publicly available on the Internet, for software poachers to pluck down from their preferred peer to peer networks.

InXile, quite understandably, has not fully detailed the nature of the content they are about to leak, but we’d imagine that if they do go ahead with it, it will be an extension of this already elaborate joke. The Bard’s Tale is, after all, a humorous game and the press release was clearly written with tongue firmly in cheek.

In the words of company founder and CEO Brian Fargo: "The Bard's Tale is a highly original game in the same category as a Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Half-Life 2 and Halo 2 so we feel some sort of leak that sounds similar to what they have experienced may be the next logical step in our launch plans. Of course we would immediately condemn the leak and make every effort to stop it if we proceed with it.

It’s been a strange day for online advertising news and predicting the next weird move is far from easy. But we’d guess someone’s about to register www.iloveleaks.com

The worlds gone made.

Halo2, HL2 etc. were already hugely hyped games before they were leaked though and i doubt anyone really gives a s**t wether this one is leaked or not.
