For as long as the Gamecube and the GBA SP have existed side by side, one of Nintendo's favourite words to bandy around is 'connectivity': the art of linking various machines together to unearth bonus-content. Speaking to IGN today, Reginald Fils-Aime has shown that this is not a forgotten concept, despite the current DS-derived noise about Pokemon-this and downloadable-that.
In an impressively journalist-friendly soundbite, Fils-Aime asked himself and then answered the follwing question: "Could there be [DS] interaction with the Revolution? Certainly possible. Certainly capable." There's not much we could possibly add to that concise explanation; except for the fact that DS-Gamecube connectivity is also "potentially possible".
A Zelda: Four Swords game has just been promised for the DS, so that might be a good opportunity for the DS to connect to something: be it the current Gamecube Four Swords game or something further down the line under the mysterious 'Revolution' banner.
What is certain is that there won't be any level of connectivity betweeen the GBA and the DS, due to operating on different wireless frequencies. But with so many other features on offer, frankly, that is a moot point.
