Phantom Set for E3 Showdown

Teague selected as peripheral partner.

Phantom Set for E3 Showdown
In an attempt to ward off the spectre that is HardOCP and its incessant berating of the Phantom online games console, Infinium Labs has announced a partnership with Teague which will see the supply of 'third-generation production prototypes and custom peripherals'. The announcement is nicely timed to deflect some of the unwanted attention propogated recently by the ongoing sniping between HardOCP and Infinium Labs already well documented in these pages, and the Teague deal is in place ready for the Phantom's rather exciting public showing at E3.

"Infinium Labs selected Teague because of its extensive experience in designing consumer electronics. Teague has proven to us that it has the design and engineering program management resources, experience, and ability to develop our Phantom Gaming System," commented Ty Graham, Infinium Labs' VP of Product Development.

All sounds interesting, doesn't it? The Phantom is becoming more tangible by the week.

Surely Infinium's stand at this year's E3 will be one of the must-see attractions at the show. There, you will actually get to see the machine, and those charged with bringing it (or raising money to bring it) to market across the US and Europe.

Roll up, roll up!

Everyone loves a sideshow. Lets hope Phantom doesn't become one. The market is too crowded, and even I know three's company and the magic number but four is a crowd, so why are Infinium bothering? I'll keep an open mind however. I'm sure E3 will be most interesting indeed.

This is probably the worst idea ever to come from a console maker. The Phantom will never sell good in the market. Market's already too crowded and I don't think that the rumored $600 machine will detrone the mighty SONY PS2. I wonder if it'll sell more than the N-Gayge on launch date. I'm happy with my PS2, GC, and Xbox.
