Strange things happen when you get old, of this there is no doubt. But ignoring the inherent odour issues associated with ageing, it’s what interests us on our way out that is perhaps the most perturbing.
Take Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, for instance. After two decades at the top of the tree, he's made reference in many interviews that his working practices and lifestyle were slowing down somewhat. He mentioned that gardening and playing the guitar were his favourite things to do.
Imagine the scene: Miyamoto, alone in his garden, lounging on a deckchair. He wants to play his guitar and ponder things, but it’s all the way across the ornamental pond inside the house. He thinks, "If only all these plants I have tended for so long could be controlled to do my bidding..." And so Pikmin was born.
