Nintendo conferences are usually joyous affairs, with the annual E3 event the highlight of the year. Press and the omnipresent assortment of 14 year-old CEO’s can usually enjoy a mixture of all-new games and favourite franchises, as well as Satoru Iwata’s somewhat frightening fist-shaking.
However, last year something strange happened; so strange that the entire games industry gasped a collective “What the…?”

Understandably, the world thought that a new Mario game, a true successor to the splendour that is Mario 64 was about to be revealed. But no, it was Pac-Man Vs, which is a cracking little game, but well, you know what we mean…
Anyway, the news today is that Electronic Arts will be releasing Pac-Man Vs as a freebie with the disastrous R: Racing Evolution into Europe on March 26.
