In a move that sees traditional book launch techniques enter the world of computer games, THQ today announced that the release of the three times BAFTA Games Award-nominated Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon for PS2, Xbox and PC on 14th November, will run alongside a real and virtual 'game signing' by Charles Cecil, MD of Revolution Software, the game's creator.

The real game signing will take place in Gamestation on Saturday 15th November in York, home to Revolution Software, with a personal appearance from Charles and the chance for Broken Sword fans to chat to the game's creators and get their copy of the new adventure game signed.

For those who are unable to make the pilgrimage to York, the world's first virtual game signing will take place on a dedicated forum on Tiscali UK (www.tiscali.co.uk/games/brokensword) on Friday 14th November. The virtual game signing will allow users to chat to Charles and his team and receive a signed game sleeve, in a format of their choice, in the post the next day; a priceless Christmas gift for Broken Sword and adventure gaming aficionados.

Over five years in the waiting and featuring a fully 3D environment, Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon is the future of the adventure gaming genre and the third instalment in this award-winning franchise. A franchise which has so far generated a staggering $100 million at retail worldwide.

'We're hugely flattered by the support we've received from Broken Sword fans to-date and for the release of The Sleeping Dragon are excited at the opportunity of talking to our players on a one-to-one basis and signing copies of their games,' commented Charles Cecil, MD, Revolution Software.

With a movie quality script and voice acting, George and Nico return in this epic adventure as they explore exotic locations including the steaming jungles of Congo, eerie castles in Prague, the chic back-streets of Paris and the historic village of Glastonbury. To save mankind from the threat of global catastrophe, they must unravel the secrets of the Sleeping Dragon.

The first 20 people to have their game signed, in-store or online, will also receive an original hand-drawn cell-drawing from the first Broken Sword game, signed by the team and a copy of the 'making of' DVD.

Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon will be published by THQ for PS2, Xbox and PC on 14th November 2003.
