GameCube hardware production begins again!
Nintendo fires up the GameCube-A-Tron Series 4000.
Nintendo’s president, Satoru 'Connectivity' Iwata has revealed that GameCube production has resumed, following the embarrassing decision made at the beginning of this year to halt all hardware manufacturing processes.
Specifically, Nintendo shut down its main manufacturing facility in February of this year, following global overstocking levels at distribution exceeding 4 million, beating the Dreamcast’s record of 2 million overstock as seen in 2000.
The move follows an international demand spike for the GameCube, powered by hefty marketing and a considerable price hack in both the US and Europe.
